God’s Blueprint for Marriage

God’s blueprint for marriage was drawn within His heart.
It was meant to form a union, from which God would not depart.

First sketched in the book of Genesis, recounting our Lord’s design,
God relayed His plan for marriage in a reflecting pool divine.

In real time came its fullness, of a Bridegroom for the Bride.
The Bridegroom left His home on high, so with her He would abide.

The Bridegroom — Jesus, laid His life down in Calvary’s door frame,
lifting the bride o’er the eternal threshold and gave her His own name.

The Bible is the invitation, where the Spirit and the Bride say “come”.
A wedding is the announcement, proclaiming the two as one.

A marriage in God’s blueprint should serve to show God’s love;
that God designated Himself to be included from above.

On their first night together, they celebrate the union of husband and wife,
echoing the Creator’s phrase of choice: ‘It was good” to start our life.

That’s when the marriage gift God created is unwrapped in wedded bliss.
It’s the unseen gift He left behind, so the connection is not missed.

The husband should lay His life down and cherish the one God gave.
The wife responds in reverence, gladly serving him every day.

Marriage, after all, is not a twosome, but a toughened cord of three,
with the thread of our own Master interwoven carefully.

Marriage should mirror God’s true nature and His love for fallen man.
The blueprint comes alive each day when we walk in God’s blessed plan.
