I saw this beam one time before. It drew my mother home.
It was a nightlight in the dark, so she’d no longer roam.
It was the ray of heaven piercing this earth’s crusty shell.
I think this ray speaks from God’s throne, of God’s story to tell.
At first the beam appears to look like a megaphone calling out,
and then it breaks its silence as it casts away all doubt.
This beam not only sheds its rays upon a darkened place,
but more importantly reveals the sight of Jesus’ lovely face.
For anyone around the beam, its light source tells us more:
eternal life in Jesus Christ leads us to heaven’s shore.
