As you turn 50, please think of life on the football field;
That place where goals are meant to guide, as one learns
the grace to yield.
The 50 yard-line on the football field is where the game begins,
So take solace, for God’s put in you a fulness of the power that lies within.
God has a goal in front of you and He’s on your boundary for either end.
As the Author, and Perfecter of your faith, you are passing things to a Friend.
God is also in the huddle, preparing His remarks to you.
So no matter what is thrown your way, His grace will see you through.
When you get tackled in the effort made and feel it’s all your fault,
Remember God’s the shield of faith and He’s blocked the great assault.
And so, my dear Christian brother, at 50 you’ll get in gear.
God is cheering you on in the heavenlies for the victories which are near.
