A Place of Beginnings

Scripture References: Genesis 1: 1-3; Teaching Topics:

In some sense or time we are at a place of beginnings. In the beginning God created the world in Genesis 1: 1-3. The beginning would mean the creation of heaven and earth. It can’t mean heaven, the throne of God, as God has no beginning. He always was. The Hebrew word “create” means to “shape, create”.

The earth was formless, void and empty. It had been created perfect, but Lucifer fell to earth and created chaos.

But, God had a two-fold plan. In verse 3, it says “God said let there be light”. The word “said” introduced His Word, authority and expression of Himself – The Logos – Jesus. Jesus is the Light Source and Resurrected One. Jesus is unlike the sun, moon and stars which He created on the 4th day. This earth cannot exist without a light source. (Take note that Jesus, who is The Living and active Light Source is to be worshipped, rather than the created things He has made who have no breath in them.)

God separated, divided the light from dark. I call this the “Kingdom Differential”. It is the re-establishment of authority of the Word of God, bringing light and exposing the devil’s tactics, disorder and wickedness. The Word also “separates” which is the same word for “set apart, sanctification”. God ordered it and ordained it. He separates us unto service as God restores us. We need The Light Source in Salvation and then we need the separation of Sanctification.

The Holy Spirit moves over the face of the waters. The Word is referred to as the washing of water by the Word. The Wind, Breath dissipates water, controls it and clears the debris. The Holy Spirit moves over us as we allow Him to take control of our lives and cleans us (sanctification) making us new creatures in Him. With new beginnings we will be fruitful and multiply growing in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ.
