Do not come expecting that our primary purpose is to get our needs met; our primary focus should be to lift up the Name of Jesus and to glorify Him.
Therefore, take time before you come to any service and pray and earnestly ask God if there are areas that need to be changed. Come ready to be an over-flowing vessel, so that you are not spending the entire service getting yourself “right with God”. I will have a quicker release if there are no hinderances in myself or anyone else.
Pray for the services before you come. Pray that God will give a real freedom in worship; bind any influences from Satan and keep your relationships open before the Lord. Pray for the messages, teachings, and so forth. Pray for individual leaders by name. Pray that God will bring new people.
As much as possible, avoid excess talking to others or moving around, especially when worship/prayer (can be the same thing) is present. We need to be each listening to what God wants to say to us personally, and if that word would be helpful to anyone else.
If there is singing and you would rather be quiet and listen, do so.
Try not to get into the way of thinking that you have to “feel” everything. To sense something in your spirit may be different than feeling with emotions. Pray for needs because it is God’s faithfulness that we draw on.
Where Jesus is lifted up, He is touching people. Read the Scripture if you think something does not apply to you and be praying for who ever it does apply.
Enjoy your worship with The Lord. No one can take it away from you!!!
